Stampin' Up! Epic Celebrations

Hello, here are the details of the first Coffee & Cards project for this week using a free stamp set called Epic Celebrations.

Cards for teenages can be quite tricky can't they and, cards for the boys even more so.  As soon as I saw Epic Celebrations I knew it was a perfect solution.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Epic Celebrations, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This is a quick and simple card that could be made many in many different colours too.

The guitar and the headpones were stamped onto scrap card, coloured with the Stampin' Blends and carefully cut out.

The headphones were cut apart - I used a mini Stampin' Dimensional behind the earpiece on the left of the photo below before 'hanging' the headphones on the corner of the card.

The sentiment was stamped twice (on scrap card) in black and in Bermuda Bay and was snipped apart before ahdering to the card front.

The inside of the card and the envelope were decorated to match too.  The guitar and the little splodges were stamped in Smoky Slate ink for a softer look.

I took some clear Wink of Stella with me too - there were some very sparkly guitars and headphones in Godmanchester this morning!

Look at the fantastic cards everyone made - love how everyone is getting very creative and developing their own individual style!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration for Coffee & Cards!

Hello, I love free stuff don't you?  This week for Coffee & Cards we will be using lots of items you can get for free with orders over £45 until the end of March.

I realised yesterday that I was stockpiling items from Sale-a-Bration and not even using them - how bad is that?

We will be using these five free items from Sale-a-Bration to make two cards with decorated envelopes and inserts.  Have you got your free items yet?  If not, ask me how!!

Stampin' Up! Sharing Sweet Thoughts - SBTD 02/2018

Hello and welcome to another Stampers by the Dozen Blog Hop!  Thanks for hopping along with us.  Our theme this month was chosen by Courtenay - 'critter fun' - any current animal stamp.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

When I think of 'critters' I think of bugs and insects but then, I am in the UK.  I have been told that in the US it is different so please forgive me.

Whilst out shopping last week I came across these chocolate critters.

Of course I bought them - so cute and, I knew just the stamp set I wanted to use with them.

Sharing Sweet Thoughts.  Sharing Sweet Thoughts is the 2017 - 2018 Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  For every set sold, Stampin' Up! give a dontation to this fantastic charity.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Alhtough I bought the chocolates last week, I did not get chance to start my project until around 12 hours before the hop went live - eekk!

I used one of the second release Sale-a-Bration items for my background - the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.  You can earn this TIEF (and coordinating stamp set) free with a £90 order until the end of March.

You get an interesting geometric effect on the back of the embossed card (photo on the left) and, when I get chance, I will be having some fun inking up this folder to see what effects I can achieve ...

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I stamped some images and coloured with the Stampin' Blends before cutting out with the Stitched Shape Framelits.  The red scalopped shape behind adds a pop of colour.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I did colour all the laybirds in red but then I decided to make one of them green to match the chocolate!  I stamped another ladybird onto a scrap of card and carefully cut out just the body using a mini Stampin' Dimensional to make him stand out.

To add depth and shine to the ladybirds I used the Fine-Tip Glue on the body
which takes around 30 minutes or so to dry.

Top Tip
Outline the image first and then carefully 'flood' with glue to cover the area.  If you get a bubble pop it with a pin and lay flat to dry.

If you look closely at the bug at the bottom of this photo you will see that the gloss is not quite dry!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used a sentiment from a stamp set called Fruit Basket.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The inside of the card was decorated to match ...

... and the envelope too of course!

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used one of the Cellophane Treat Bags with a simple decorated topper for the critter.  The topper measurement is 5.2cm x 10 cm, scored at 5cm.  The critter was somewhat reluctant to move to the bottom of the bag so I had to use my bone folder to push him down!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, SBTD Blog Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The sentiment on the tag is from a stamp set called Tabs for Everything.

This little ensemble will be winging (sorry) its way to a special friend next week as a little birthday treat!

Stampin' Up! Cake Soiree - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the second C & C project this week using the Cake Soiree bundle.

We used the Ruffled embossing folder - I think it might be a new favourite for several of my crafty ladies (and me)!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The foliage die in this set is very clever - it allows you cut to all pieces in just one pass through the Big Shot.  The more observant amonst you might also note that there are two of the leaves and some of the flowers too!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I spent some time arranging and then rearranging my flower and leaves before I was happy with the result.  The delicate die cut edge on this tag is so pretty don't you think?

Here is the completed card.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I actually made the sample for this card last week and took it to C & C on Thursday.  Pink is a colour I don't use that much and my crafty ladies were very surprised.  The original card was made with one of the cute Narrow Note Cards but I was asked if we could make a bigger card so, I did!

Here are both cards side by side - which one do you prefer (small for me)?

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for a crafty coffee. I will post details of the projects for next week shortly.

I will be taking part in the next Stampers by the Dozen blog hop at the weekend; once again I am still working on my project so I will be busy photographing and writing my post tomorrow - talk about last minute! I would love you to visit and hop around with us.  I will be using a rather special stamp set called Sharing Sweet Thoughts.

Hope you have a crafty weekend.

Stampin' Up! Cake Soiree - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for the first C & C project this week using Cake Soiree.

This is the first time I have inked up this gorgeous cake image!  I used a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the lid of an Old Olive ink pad to add some colour to the leaves.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

These useful pens combine the flexibility of watercolours with the convenience of markers.  The dual tipped pens are filled with a specialist solution that allows you to blend ink easily.  The tip cleans off with just a stroke or two so you don't need a different pen for each colour.

The delicate details in the die that creates the cake stand are so pretty.  The cake stand base is ahered with Tombow and I used Dimensionals on the rest of the cake.

I created a small floral arrangement on one side of the card and added some jewels for a bit of sparkle.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Cake Soiree, Coffee & Cards Project February 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The inside of the card and the envelope have been stamped to coordinate too.
