Stampin' Up! In The City quick & simple

Hello, here are the details of our first project for this week using this Hostess Only stamp set called In The City.  This stamp set is so very versatile - I love it and my crafty ladies came up with many different versions of this card this morning too!

August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Craftyduckydoodah!, In The City, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Stampin' Up! think of everything as you know.  When I was designing this card I did think that I could draw a line with a marker along the bottom of the house, tree and car to ground the images.  After looking closely at the case the stamps came in, I realised I didn't have too!  The tiny cobbles stamped in Smoky Slate ink fit the bill perfectly!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, In The City, August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I also stamped the  trees on some scraps of white card and cut the tops out carefully.  I used one of the new Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to create some depth.

Theses wonderful Mini Stampin' Dimensionals can be found on page 203 of the Annual Catalogue - make sure you don't miss them, you get 720 of them for just £3.75!!!  Why not add a pack or two to your next order?

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Stampers by the Dozen Blog Hop #001

Hello, and welcome to the very first Stampers by the Dozen blog hop!  We are a group of 12 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who will be hopping once a month.

I have been wanting to take part in a blog hop for several months now so, when this opportunity arose I jumped at it!

For our first hop the brief was to focus on items that we had been able to pre order from the upcoming Autumn / Winter Catalogue.

For me, it was an obvious choice as soon as I saw page 48 of the Autumn / Winter catalogue and the new Painted Autumn Suite.  Bold water coloured images in beautiful autumnal colours - absolutely stunning!

I have always had a bit of a thing for sunflowers - in fact one of the very first stamps I bought almost 28 years ago was this sunflower stamp!

Things have moved on a lot since then but I still love sunflowers and don't think I will ever part with this particular stamp!

The stamps I used are from a set called Painted Harvest (item 144783 - £19) and the coordinating Leaf Punch (item 144667 - £14.50).  These two items are available as a bundle for just 30 m= 10% saving!

Craftyduckydoodah!, painted Harvest, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I decided I would attempt a fairly shabby chic look as I have someone special in mind for this card - here are the colours I decided to use.

I created a background for my card front with some Early Espresso card stock. Now for some strange reason I used Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the leaves around the edges - odd when I have the Early espresso ink but hey ho!

Using stamps as a border to create a background is quick and simple to do. There is some absolutely stunning Designer Series Paper in this suite but I could not quite bring myself to cut into just yet as I am still admiring it - I think I might be a DSP hoarder ...

The Crushed Curry was an obvious choice for the sunflowers - can you see the depth and dimension of the stamped images?  I love the mottled texture; this is achieved using two step stamping for the flowers and the leaves.  I punched the leaves out with the matching punch and used my poky tool to curl and shape each leaf.  I fussy cut the flower and shaped the centre a little (pressing with my thumb) before adhering on top of another stamped flower with a Stampin' Dimensional.

I used a stamping sponge and some Cake ink to give an aged look to the card stock and the envelope inking in a circular movement around the edges.  I then stamped the leaves using both stamps in Crumb Cake and added some dotty splodges in Garden Green ink.  Hopefully you can see this clearly on the envelope, I added an additional piece of card to the inside decorated in the same way.

Craftyduckydoodah!, painted Harvest, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used some of the new Jute Twine (item 144625 - £5) across the front of my card and then I had one of my usual dilemmas with the card - to add a bow or not?  After leaving the card overnight, I added a bow!

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Stampin' Up! In The City for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we will be using one of the Hostess Sets - In The City.  I also used this stamp set for an online challenge I joined earlier this month.  You can see my project here if you missed it.

There is something about this stamp set that reminds me of my childhood - does anyone remember Fuzzy Felt?  There is a whimsical feel to these images and I love that you have the stamps in the set to add colour to your images too. So many possibilities and I think this set would be great fun for children to have some crafty fun with don't you?

Stampin' Up! Always & Forever - stepped up

Hello, here are the details of the second project for this week.  We had a spot of bother making this card earlier in the week - the ink kept smudging on the vellum.  In part I think it was due to the humidity but vellum is known for being a bit tricky to work with so I brought my heat gun to later sessions to stop it happening again - phew!

After stamping our tree trunk onto some Shimmery White cardstock we used the water colour pencils to add some colour and shading.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Always & Forever, August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

With this technique you don't need to be too neat/specific with your colouring as the magic happens when you use the Blender Pen!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Always & Forever, August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

After blending, we cut the image out using the fabulous Stitched Shape Framelits Dies.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Always & Forever, August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

For some reason I can not find my Pinewood Planks embossing folder so we used the Seaside one instead - fortunately it still looks good!

I used the sadly retired Hearts Border Punch to create the tiny red hearts - they were a perfect fit!

Here is the sentiment band that caused so many problems ...

The vellum was placed over the card front and we scored a line on each side and then wrapped it around the card, adhering at the back. We also added some more of the tiny sparkly hearts as it seemed a shame to waste them!

Here is the finished card.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week - especially Maddy who crafted with us on Tuesday for the first time.  She did a great job - she even grasped the technique with the double sided tape straight away!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Always & Forever, August Coffee & Cards Project 2017, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I have really enjoyed seeing all the different cards that everyone made.

Next week we will be using a stamp set called In The City, I will post details shortly.  If you scroll back through a few posts you can see a card I made with this set for a Joy of Sets Challenge.

I have a friend coming to visit this evening, we are going to a literary lunch at the Women's Institute HQ in Oxford on Friday.  I was fortunate enough to win tickets and I am really looking forward to it.  I taking my friend home on Saturday and then travelling on to Leeds for a much needed haircut.  No time for crafting for me this weekend.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Thanks for looking at my blog today - come back soon!

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe - customer thank you gifts for July/quick update!

Hello,  I can't believe that August is half gone already - where is this year going to?  I realised yesterday that I had not share my customer thank you gift for July - oops!

Did you know everyone who places an order (£20 minimum) with me receives a hand made card and a little something from me as a thank you?  This applies to orders placed directly through me and online orders when you use the current Hostess Code which changes each month.  You will find it on my blog and at the top of my facebook page!

Different every month, freebies range from your choice of ink pad, jewels, Designer Series Paper shares and so on.

This month I thought I would offer some of the gorgeous ribbons from Stampin' Up! as a thank you.

Most of the orders I receive are from my Coffee & Cards crafty ladies so when I saw the Coffee Cafe Bundle (= 10% saving) I knew I would have to come up with something for everyone.

The stamp images coordinate beautifully with the Framelits to help you create coffee cups of all sizes.

I took inspiration from the gorgeous DSP in the Coffee Break Suite, choosing colours to coordinate is so easy with Stampin' Up!

Do you remember the little baskets I made for Easter?

I got this idea in my head that I would make something similar with the coffee cups ... roll forward a few days ... lots of frustration and wasted card stock as I could not get my head around the measurements needed for the little box between the cups.

Finally, I came up with something that worked!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Coffee Cafe, July 2017 Customer Gift, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

'Thanks a Latte' to all my customer last month - I really appreciate you choosing to shop with me and, I hope you liked your little gift.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Coffee Cafe, July 2017 Customer Gift, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,
