Stampin' Up! Petal Palette - Quick & Simple

Hello, here are the details for the first project this week using Petal Palette.

I chose a fresh and simple colour combination of Lemon Lime Twist and Rich Razzleberry this week.

We started by deciding which of the two embossing folders to use for our embossed panels.   At the moment there is no clear favourite ...

Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7,

We used the Petals and More Thinlits dies to cut out the white leafy sprig.  Several of my crafty ladies snipped stems off and rearranged them which looked lovely.

After cutting a Stitched Shape Framelits circle, we stamped one of the images with Black Memento ink and coloured using the Stampin' Blends.  The Stampin' Blends make it so easy to add colour to stamped images - they almost like they have been printed!

Here is the completed card and envelope.  I added a sentiment across the bottom - there are some really useful sentiments in the Petal Palette stamp set.

I have one further Coffee & Cards sessions available this week if you would like to join me to make this project (and another one), you can find all the details here,

Details of the products I used can be found below.  I will be post details of the another project using Petal Palette later this week so come back soon so you don't miss anything!

Now that my daughter has be released from hospital and is back home, things will hopefully get back to normal.  She is not enjoying being ill and the crutches are already starting to annoy her!  I am wondering how long it will be before she gets bored ...

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a lovely stamp set called Petal Palette.

We used this particular bundle for a C & C session just before Christmas and it was really popular.  Last week one of my crafty ladies asked if we could do some embossing and the lovely Petal Pair folders have been sitting on my desk waiting to be used so we will be using both of them.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

We will again be using bold colours!

We will also be stamping, die cutting and doing a spot of colouring with the Stampin' Blends.

Here are the projects for next week.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I am spending the weekend in Birmingham with my daughter Rosie who is having an operation on her leg so there will not be a C & C session on Monday - sorry ladies.

If you would like to join me, you can find me at the following locations  next week:

Tuesday - both projects
Venue:  Bests Cafe, 7 Kings Hedges, St Ives (PE27 3XS)
Time:    2:00 - 4:00 pm
Cost:     £6.00 - includes all materials and tuition to make 2 projects.

Thursday - both projects
Venue:   The Grand Piano Cafe Bar, Godmanchester
Time:     2:00 - 4:00 pm
Cost:      £6.00 - includes all materials and tuition to make 2 projects.

I will be posting more details of these projects and the products I used to create them later this week so be sure to pop back again soon.

I have brought some bits and pieces along with me so that I can keep myself occupied.  This was much to the amusement of my daughter when we were loading the car up yesterday but she soon changed her mind.  We were troubled last night by a very bright blue light on the tv in our hotel room - of course I had a scrap of card and some washi tape in my box.  The light was was very soon history and Rosie scoffed no more!

Hope you can join me for some crafty fun very soon, have a crafty weekend.

Stampin' Up! Bubble Over - stepped up

Hello, finally - here are the details of the second project for this week using Bubbles & Bottles.  There are so many nasty bugs around at the moment and I'm afraid I succumbed this week too so, after a quick trip to the local hospital I am hopefully back on track now!

This particular stamp and framelits set has been very popular this week - it is one of those sets that is suitable for many different people and also lots of occasions.  For me, this bundle is definitely what I call a 'keeper'!

The bold, bright colours in this DSP gave me the inspiration for the colour palette this week.  This coordination is one of the many things that I love about Stampin' Up!

As I was using such bright colours, I decided to create the bottles from vellum as a change from paper and card and, I have to say I think they look great!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bottles & Bubbles, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The tiny silver bottle tops are a bit fiddly to stick to the vellum but my crafty ladies all agreed it was worth taking a little extra time (and less glue) for the effect they achieve.

Some simple matting and layering with Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight created a background for the bottles.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bottles & Bubbles, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The inside of the card was also decorated with the bubble stamp - it fits perfectly into the corners.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bottles & Bubbles, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Before adhering the bottles we stamped a cluster of bubbles to look as though they are coming from the open bottle of pop.  The two smaller bottles have been adhered with Tombow and the larger bottle has Stampin' Dimensionals hidden behind the label.

Thank you to everyone who joined me this week for a crafty coffee.  For those of you with the lurgies, I hope you feel better very soon.

When this post is published (if I have pressed all the right buttons, in the right order), I will be on my way to Birmingham with my daughter.  Thank you to everyone for all the kind wishes and prayers - I really appreciate your kindness.

Next week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a stamp set called Petal Pallette.

We used this particular bundle just before Christmas and everyone loved the tiny bird.   Here is a sneaky peak of one of the projects.

Stampin' Up! - Bubble Over for a special birthday!

Hello, I'm back today with another project made with my (current) favourite bundle - Bubble Over.

A special friend had a birthday on Monday and, as he is a bit of a beer monster this seemed the obvious bundle to use!

Once I had the initial idea this card came together really quickly - the hardest part was deciding which brown to use for the beer bottles!  I decided on Soft Suede.  If you were making a card for someone who preferred lager, the bottles would look great cut from green card stock too.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bubble Over, Celebrate You Thinlits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used a sponge dauber to add some Soft Suede ink the edges of of the bottles - this is a great way to add depth and dimension.

I had initially planned on using a plain piece of Wood Textures DSP as my background but changed my mind at the last minute and ran it through the Pinewood Planks TIEF.  Hopefully you can just about see it in the photo.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bubble Over, Celebrate You Thinlits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

My most favourite thing about this particular bundle are the tiny dies that create the bottle tops.  There are four in the set, two for each size of bottle which is brilliant when you need multiples in a hurry or you are prepping for a class!

I created labels for each bottle and again, added some ink to the edges to blend things together.  I had lots of fun deciding which labels to use for my bottles - there are several to choose from in this set.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bubble Over, Celebrate You Thinlits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used the fabulous cluster of bubbles stamp to decorate the inside of the card too.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Bubble Over, Celebrate You Thinlits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used one of the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies to create my sentiment.  I cut the word 'celebrate' three times and glued them all together to create a more solid word.

Thanks for looking at my blog today, come back soon to see a multi coloured project made with this bundle.  Here is a sneaky peak - goodness know what I was thinking when I choose the colours but the bottles look very different to the brown ones!

Stampin' Up! Lots of Happy - December thank you cards

Hello, did you know that I launched the first round of My Stampin' Blends Club in November?  Four lovely crafty ladies joined the first club and are already enjoying the benefits.

I always include a thank you card with customer orders (and a little thank you gift too).  During December I decided to give the Club ladies a sneaky peak of a brand new all inclusive kit - the Lots of Happy Kit.

Have a look at the film below for some great hints and tips.

The kit includes two exclusive watercolour pencils in Lemon Lime Twist and Flirty Flamingo!

The sentiments in this kit are so useful and the mix of shapes and sizes of cards makes a lovely change.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Lots of Happy Kit, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used the watercolour pencils in the kit with a Blender Pen to colour my cards but, of course the ladies in the club can use their Stampin' Blends too!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Lots of Happy Kit, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This all inclusive kit would be perfect for a new crafter or to take away with you so you don't miss your crafty fix - the only extras you would need would be adhesive and a pair of scissors, a Blender Pen if you wanted and perhaps a pencil sharpener.

Did you spot that the envelopes in this kit have a striped lining?  I decided to use one of the tiny flowers to decorate the inside of the cards and the front of the envelopes using Sahara Sand ink - this creates a soft, subtle image. I used the pencils and the blender pens again - such a pretty little motif!

Here are the cards for my crafty ladies.

When you have made the 20 cards in this kit you can even purchase a refill kit to make another 20 cards if you want to - Stampin' Up! think of everything!

I will be travelling to Birmingham next week with my daughter - I will be staying in an hotel for a few days whilst she is in hospital so I will need something to keep me occupied - this kit is perfect!

Details of the products I used for these cards can be found below.
