Stampin' Up! This Little Piggy - quick and simple

Hello, I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend enjoying the sunshine - the weather in Huntingdon has been glorious!  Here are the details of the first project for this week using My Little Piggy.

We created backgrounds using the new Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Expressions Embossing Folder - TIEF for short!

These new TIEFs produce deep, crisp impressions that are great for card fronts and accents.

We used a piece of Betty (Berry) Burst cardstock and I chose to use the card for my sample on the debossed side.

I coloured my little piggy with a Copic pen and used the Stampin' Write Markers to add colour to the rest of the image.

For the tutu my piggy is wearing I used a 4" piece of the lovely Berry Burst Finely Woven Ribbon.  I spent ages trying the pull a thread so that I could create a gathered effect without success.

I ended up resorting to a spot of sewing (this is not something I enjoy at all) - I used some Metallic Silver Thread as I figured that whatever I used would be seen so it might as well have a bit of sparkle!!

I tried using some tulle but I only had white in my crafty stash and it was too pale for this card.

Then I had a lightbulb moment!!!  I used one of the Stampin' Write Markers that were out on my desk to add some colour to the little roses ...

What a difference a little bit of colour makes!  I added some tiny kisses to the Stitched Shape Framelit to cover a mucky splodge (I blamed the heat)!

Here is the original card I made ...

... and here is the card I made this morning ...

The puns and quips were flying once again this morning; my favourite being 'porcine aviators' and there might have been the odd snort or two courtesy of Lesley!!!
