Stampin' Up! Always & Forever - stepped up

Hello, here are the details of the second project for this week.  We had a spot of bother making this card earlier in the week - the ink kept smudging on the vellum.  In part I think it was due to the humidity but vellum is known for being a bit tricky to work with so I brought my heat gun to later sessions to stop it happening again - phew!

After stamping our tree trunk onto some Shimmery White cardstock we used the water colour pencils to add some colour and shading.

With this technique you don't need to be too neat/specific with your colouring as the magic happens when you use the Blender Pen!

After blending, we cut the image out using the fabulous Stitched Shape Framelits Dies.

For some reason I can not find my Pinewood Planks embossing folder so we used the Seaside one instead - fortunately it still looks good!

I used the sadly retired Hearts Border Punch to create the tiny red hearts - they were a perfect fit!

Here is the sentiment band that caused so many problems ...

The vellum was placed over the card front and we scored a line on each side and then wrapped it around the card, adhering at the back. We also added some more of the tiny sparkly hearts as it seemed a shame to waste them!

Here is the finished card.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week - especially Maddy who crafted with us on Tuesday for the first time.  She did a great job - she even grasped the technique with the double sided tape straight away!

I have really enjoyed seeing all the different cards that everyone made.

Next week we will be using a stamp set called In The City, I will post details shortly.  If you scroll back through a few posts you can see a card I made with this set for a Joy of Sets Challenge.

I have a friend coming to visit this evening, we are going to a literary lunch at the Women's Institute HQ in Oxford on Friday.  I was fortunate enough to win tickets and I am really looking forward to it.  I taking my friend home on Saturday and then travelling on to Leeds for a much needed haircut.  No time for crafting for me this weekend.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Thanks for looking at my blog today - come back soon!

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Susan xx
