Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons - lots of leaves!

Hello, the weather in Cambridgeshire this week is certainly turning towards Autumn - its my favourite time of year.  I had my first swish of Autumn last weekend through a pile of crisp and scrunchy leaves - such great fun even at my age!

For me Autumn is a time for reflection - and then panic as I realise how close we are to Christmas eeek!

Anyway with leaves very much in my mind (I have this quote on an inspiration board in my craftroom), I decided to make some leaves.

I have several stamp sets that have leaves in - one of my favourites being Vintage Leaves but as we are using Colorful Seasons for Coffee & Cards this week I decided to use that set, have a play and get inky and boy did I get inky!

Here are the colours I decided to use - a perfect combination for some lovely Autumn leaves don't you think?

I decided to use some of the new Glossy White Card for my leaves, I stamped them in Old Olive.

Top Tip
You need to be careful when stamping onto glossy cardstock as the image can smudge.  Stamp down firmly without letting the block slide to achieve a crisp image.

I created some interesting effects by holding the card down whilst lifting up the background stamp ...

I stamped the veins using Old Olive and then used the coordinating die to cut them out.

Now for some fun with the Sponge Daubers!  First I added some Crushed Curry ink ...

Then some Pumpkin Pie ...

Finally I used a little Cajun Craze and this is what I ended up with - a gorgeous pile of colourful leaves (and very inky fingers)!!

Do you remember the smudged effect I achieved on one of the leaves?  Here is how it turned out ...

After I made this little pile, I think I got a bit carried away and made some more!

Whilst inking my leaves I spread them on my Grid Paper and randomly daubed ink around - not very technical I'm afraid it produced great results.

Don't forget the stalks - I had to go back and add some colour to mine!

Now what on earth am I going to do with all these leaves?  I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head ... I am doing my second Blog hop with Stampers by the Dozen Team at the weekend - the theme this month is trees and leaves so I will share what I made for the hop soon.
