Stampin' Up! Carols of Christmas - stepped up

Hello, phew another very busy week - so much to do, so little time!  Anyway, here are the details for the final project this week using Carols of Christmas.

I have to admit that I was not entirely happy with this project when I saw the photograph.  I'd had an idea of how I wanted the card to look, I wasn't sure why it was not quite right - I just knew it wasn't.

Roll forward a few days, and a cup of coffee whilst chatting with some of my crafty ladies and I was able to tweak it a little and I think it looks a lot better now.  The ladies who crafted with me this week all agreed so, it must be better!

Here is the original card.

With the help of some additional stamping of the pine boughs on the background panel and placing the die cut elements on top of the ribbon instead of tucking them behind made all the difference.  The final tweak was tying some silver metallic ribbon with the black - now I was happy!

I love the soft focus that adding a velum wrap to a card gives - as one of my crafty ladies said 'it looks very elegant and expensive'!

Although the cards shown below have silver heat embossing on them I did make another in black but I gave it to a customer in the coffee shop who admired it so, no photo!

Here is a photo of two further cards made this week - spot the difference?

Next week for Coffee & Cards we will be using Christmas Pines - everyone loved the die cut pine cones this week and asked to use them again!  Here is a sneaky peak - lots of glitter and sparkle!

Details of the products I used for these cards can be found below.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I am looking forward to seeing the projects you made with the ladies everyone coloured with the new Stampin' Blends.  Don't forget to post a picture on my facebook page and get your family and friends to like it.  The project that receives the most likes will win a duo of the pens you choose to colour your lady with.

Hope you can join me for a crafty coffee soon!

Susan xx
