Stampin' Up! Cheers to the Year - in colour!

Hello,  several weeks ago we were using Cheers to the Year to make some very elegant mixed metal cards. I wanted to show that you can quite easily step up a design and change the colours to create a very different look.

The ladies who craft with me regularly know that my favourite colours are blues and teals so I thought I would use these for my card.

I had all the elements for this card created and took them with me to Coffee & Cards sessions but had not quite decided how I would put them together.  I finally got around to assembling a card yesterday!

I used a sponge dauber to add colour to the Year of Cheer Speciality DSP.

A quick wipe over with some tissue restored the silver foil to shiny loveliness.

I used the Winter Wonder TIEF and some Vellum Cardstock to add another layer to my card.  I used a glue dot under the centre of the snowflake as I knew I would be adding something on top - vellum is a bit tricky to stick without the adhesive showing.

I cut a few snowflakes from silver foil and embossed the sentiment from Cheers to the Year in Silver on a small Stitched Shape Framelit circle.  I added some Soft Sky ribbon behind for an extra pop of colour.  I love the font on this sentiment (wish my handwriting looked like that)!

I also used a couple of silver foil snowflakes on the inside of my card and on the back of the envelope (only adhering on the top half).

I received a new duck for my birthday last month - one of my crafty ladies has named her Flora Dora.  Quite an apt name as my Grandma was called Flora and, my favourite gin cocktail just happens to be called Flora Dora too!!

Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Happy crafting!

Susan
