Stampin' Up! Magical Day - for me!

Hello, as promised at the weekend, this is what I made with the left over bits and bobs from the Magical Day project I did for a recent blog hop.

I like to learn new things and this year I thought I would get off to a good start with a brush lettering workshop earlier in January.  I went with Wendy who is one of my Ducklings - we had a great time.

We got through many, many sheets of paper practising our letters!  I had some spare time whilst I was in Birmingham with my daughter so I did lots of practice sheets.

I am not sure that this is something I will continue with but I enjoyed learning a new skill - I think that I would prefer calligraphy as it is neater and more structured.  There is something about brush lettering that offends me!

I came across a quote that seemed the perfect way to use my left over rainbow and unicorn.  I confess that I drew some guide lines for my letters which you are not supposed to do.

Still not perfectly straight but it will do!

I used a RIBA frame from IKEA - love these frames, they always look good but they are difficult to photograph.

I am keeping this picture for me - if all goes to plan I will be moving in a few months and this will take pride of place in my new craft room.

Here is the frame with the card I made for the blog hop.

The ducky unicorn in the photo was a present from one of my crafty ladies - thank you Sarah xx

The rainbow layers fit together so neatly and I am sure I will be using them again very soon.

Details of the products I used for these projects can be found in my earlier post here along with a top tip for lining up the rainbow!

Several of my crafty ladies have asked I will be offering these projects as a Workshop - if there is enough interest, I will ... let me know asap.

Happy crafting.

Susan xx
